Re: 5 Year Ownership Review

The comment, "my Model 3 reservation" has been mentioned a number of times in this posting.
I also have a model 3 reservation and wonder how many other IMIEV owners have put up deposits for that car.
Stay charged my friends.

Re: 5 Year Ownership Review

Best wishes to fellow five year ownership members. I leased my car in February, 2013 (2012 model) and bought it two years later. Unpretentious is a great description for this vehicle. Many people scoff at its looks and limited range. However, it has served me well as a ("fill in the blank"...

Blower fan speed

For some unknown reason I decided to run the heater today. It's only about 85 in Houston today. Anyway, I noticed something that was never apparent before. When I switched the ac/heater knob (top one) from heater to ac and back again, (with fan switch on medium speed and mode selection switch to &qu...

Re: Mitsubishi Will No Longer Sell the i MiEV in the USA

Naturally I was greatly disappointed but not surprised about the news that Mitsubishi will discontinue the I-Miev in the USA.
My I-Miev now joins my 1980 Commuta Car (City Car) as a orphaned electric car.
Let's hope the same thing doesn't happen to the model 3 Tesla I have reserved.

Re: Pot hole and bent wheel

A recent encounter with a pothole bent the right front wheel enough to cause an air leak that luckily allowed me to still get home. Being a DYI type of person I thought no problem I will just remove the wheel and take it to my friendly tire dealer. Much to my surprise, the lug wrenches I tried from ...

Extended warranties

Now that our cars are getting on in age, has anyone looked at extended (third party) warranty programs ? I received an unsolicited letter from one such company today and enjoyed hearing all the ICE components that would be covered if I purchased this platinum program to the tune of $595/year. In the...

Re: Electrical chaos

My comment with the 12 volt battery was poorly worded. What I meant to say was the 12 volt negative connection was done after I had disconnected the EVSE and turned off the key. I was still getting a strange clicking noise with the key off as if a relay was opening and closing. Sorry for the confusi...

Re: Electrical chaos

Follow up: After running an errand (in another vehicle) I returned and checked the 12 volt battery voltage with the negative lead still disconnected: 12.41v so... the battery probably wasn't the problem. Reconnected the terminal and all seems well. "Ready" light came on and other indicator...

Electrical chaos

2012 ES model. I couldn't find my car keys. When I found them in the ignition of the car all the lights were blinking at me and there was a strange clicking noise. I think I left the car turned on ( I had just returned from a trip) and plugged in the level one charger then went into the house. My la...

Re: Re-surging interest in the i-MiEV?

With the recent acquisition(majority ownership) by Nissan of Mitsubishi I remain hopeful that the I-Miev will continue to be in the vision of Carlos Ghosn and the Nissan/Renault/Mitsubishi Alliance. With the proposed upcoming range increase of the Leaf perhaps the I-Miev could be given a range boost...
